Tuesday 11 June 2013

Following waking up to sunshine for the last couple of weeks it is a shock to the system to see Tuesday accompanied by the dreary rain, still nevermind as in the words of Dolly Parton,

'The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.'

I have certainly found in my life that by standing tall when the rain falls the rainbows are well worth waiting for.  As the rain clouds disappear and the sun shines again it is important that we hold on to the experience and the lessons the rain has delivered.  It is my belief that as in nature,  the rain feeds us what we need to grow, to become stronger and therefore enables us to enjoy the sunshine of the good times when they are delivered.

Todays poem is taking from my book 'Made it Thru the Rain' , 'A New Dawn' was written when the clouds had begun to move on following my journey through depression, it was the start of a new chapter in my life, a chapter where my positive thinking had really started to take shape and was bringing to fruitition the reality of my dreams.

So remember if it is raining today in your life, be sure to look forward to that rainbow that is sure to follow.

A New Dawn

  I have turned a corner
               Only I can see
                   I smile inside as
                     The warmth of its direction
                Curls itself around
                                My heart
                                    As
                             My thoughts
                                     Turn to light the
                                                Way ahead
